Sustainable and successful business development is inseparable from the
activities of our stakeholders, including shareholders, investors, employees,
labour unions, local communities, authorities, suppliers and consumers.
Severstal's social responsibility is to maintain an equilibrium in relations
with all stakeholders and to build long-term, mutually beneficial
relationships.
The countries and regions in which we operate differ in their levels of
economic development and social priorities. There are also joint areas of
responsibility: labor safety and environmental safety, our responsibility as an
employer, our participation in social and economic development. We strive to
create equilibrium between our corporate priorities and regional
priorities.
Our CSR strategy embodies our voluntary contribution to the development of
society. Severstal’s social and charity investments in 2011 totaled $82
million.
